Upcycling T-Shirts

I’m not sure if this is something that you guys are interested in, so please let me know in the comments below!

These days, I’m pretty much a minimalist … I am very conscious about what I bring into my home, and am selective with what I purchase. I would rather have one very good quality item (ie. a beautiful handwoven scarf!), than a cheap item from Kmart that was produced in a factory (under who knows what conditions).

My weakness used to be band t-shirts … I have been into Goth music since I was a teenager, and I tend to hold onto them as they are not easily available - they become super precious.

I have a solution! Since I have been making most of the clothes I wear on a daily basis, I decided to make a shrug out of a couple of band t-shirts.

I am using the Tahi Shrug pattern by Muse Patterns. I am not a great sewer, but stick to basic patterns - and this one is fantastic! I have two already that I wear to work in the freezing office.

How do you recycle t-shirts?
