A Sewing Post ...

Oh hello there … it’s me!

I’m not sure if my readers are interested in my sewing adventures (if so, you may want to follow my non-business Instagram, michellethreefold), so feel free to comment below!

Last year, I decided to teach myself how to sew, because I wasn’t feeling comfortable in my work clothes. So I started with super-easy patterns (Tilly & The Buttons is highly recommended!), and then started mashing patterns together, mainly with stretch fabric (aka ‘secret pyjamas’).

The picture above shows my absolute favourite dress (in fact I have quite a few of them now in different fabrics) - the bottom is the Longshaw skirt from Wendy Ward’s ‘Beginner’s Guide To Sewing With Knit Fabrics’, and the top is the Agnes top by Tilly & The Buttons.

Now I wear all me-made clothes in the office … and I feel like my authentic self, while still being professional. I have even made shrugs (as the office is super-cold).

Do you sew your own clothes, or are you tempted to learn?
