Well, I’ve learnt a lesson!

So, I’ve been talking about wearing what makes you feel good, and the colours you love, and getting out of your comfort zone.

Well, last week I bought this HOT PINK LIPSTICK!

’So what?’ you may be thinking. But after my fave lippy was discontinued (shout out to gemma), I needed to find a new one, and I realised that I had been playing safe.

I’m one of those people who only has 1 lipstick … yeah, crazy! And I’m not a ‘red lipstick’ person at all (it’s not my colour!). So I thought … what about hot pink? Definitely not fashionable (who cares?), but definitely my colour. Hey, it’s my branding!

What went through my head? Oh, it’s hard to find this colour with clean ingredients (I haven’t used mainstream products with nasties for more than 15 years, but that’s another story), I’m too old for this colour, this colour will bleed, blah blah blah.

So I shut all those negative thoughts down, and bought it anyway! I finally found this colour with natural ingredients by Antipodes - let me know if there are others ;)

Moral of the story: stop second guessing yourself, open yourself up to something new, do what you want and ignore the negative chatter that goes on inside your head.

And I’ve gotta tell you … this colour makes me smile every time I see myself in the mirror!
